What is American cheese?

What is Swiss cheese?
Swiss cheese is the type of cheese that has its origins in Switzerland and it is known to take the shape of the Swiss Emmental. Swiss cheese is characterized by its holes whereas American cheese has no holes in it. The texture is another factor which differentiates these two cheeses as the Swiss cheese is mildly soft with its semi-soft texture and is quite sticky in the mouth. The American cheese on the other hand has a smooth, moist consistency and it also melts easily in the mouth.
Swiss cheese molds much quicker than the American cheese as it contains real milk and no artificial preservatives. American cheese does not develop mold as preservatives are included in them in order to make them last longer.
Swiss cheese on the other hand is considered as a much more healthier option as it contains no chemicals nor any other artificial ingredient. American cheese is a commercialized cheese which contains rather a large amount of chemicals and preservatives as it is built to last.
