Different between CEO and president
A CEO and a president:
In order for an organization to run smoothly, specially a large one, it requires a CEO and a president. Even though both these people can be termed as high ranking officers, their roles in the organization are very different from each other.
Who is a CEO?
The Chief Executive officer (CEO) of a company is there to ensure that his company makes as much profit as it possibly can. It is his duty to conceptualize a workable and a profitable long-term plan of action for the company and also to apply cost-efficient policies and techniques. A CEO is also responsible for introducing sound sales and marketing strategies, and performance-optimizing initiatives.
A CEO also makes forecasts as to to which extent the company will be in a given period of time as his plans of actions allows it to be. He or she is the individual that acts as the mediator between the managers and the directors or investors and he is the mastermind behind the company who is responsible for conjuring up the market plans that will allow the company to reach the goals that has been set up for it.
Who is a president?
The president is the next in command to the CEO and he is always required to report back to the CEO. The responsibility of the smooth running of plans and procedures is in the hands of the president who will supervise the daily procedures of a company, making sure that all the plans are implemented properly at the same time, keeping constant contact with the managers and ensuring that the goals of the company are met in the most efficient way as possible.
What is the difference between CEO and a president?
CEO or the Chief Executive officer is the brains behind the company. He will conjure up long term business plans for the company which will in turn result in generating the most amount of profit as possible.
The president on the other hand is the second in command to the CEO. The president is required to report back to the CEO and make sure that the plans drawn up by the CEO are being executed properly. He also manages the managers and provides them with instructions as to how to manage different sections.
A CEO is required to deal with the investors and media while it is the president who executes all that the CEO instructs him to do in the same time making sure that the business is running properly. Therefore, one can say that the CEO is the person who conjures up long term business plans and other strategies that are required to generating the most amount of profit whereas the president is the individual who handles the practical part of those plans and strategies by putting those plans in to action and making sire that the business runs down a smooth path.
