About white vinegar

It is this distillation of the distilled alcohol which changes the chemicals in the substance, thus giving it a sour taste. White vinegar can also be made by combining water with acetic acid. However, white vinegar is known to be extremely sour in taste and is used more for cleaning purposes than in cooking. White vinegar is also a good ingredient for preserving meat because of its high content of acid and it is commonly used as a cure for sun burns as well.

As the name itself suggests, rice vinegar is made from fermenting rice and is mainly produced and widely used in Asian countries such as Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, and China. In making rice vinegar, the fermentation process adds bacteria in to the substance which in turn will create acetic acid. Many types of rice wines are available in the market today such as black rice vinegar which is popular in southern China, red rice vinegar which can be used as a substitute for black vinegar just by adding a little sugar and white rice vinegar which is ideal for pickling vegetables owing to its sweet and sour flavor.
What is the difference between rice vinegar and white vinegar?
