Difference between weed and hash
Weed vs hash:
Hash and weed are both substances originating from the same plant which is known as the female cannabis plant also known as the cannabis sativa. Both weed and hash are drugs that create intoxicating effects on those who consume it. The cannabis plant was once used for medicinal purposes and yet, after some time it was banned from being used for medicine all over the globe.
What is weed?
Weed, also known as Grass, Pot, Marijuana, Marihuana, Mary Jane, Dope, Ganja and Reefer, is made of the dried flowering tops of the cannabis plant while the fruit of the plant is also used for this purpose. The intensity of the effects of weed depends upon whether the upper part of the plant or the middle part of the plant has been used in its production. Weed is often smoked and the non-smokeable bark and seed part of the plant need to be removed carefully before rolling the weed in to a joint or a bong in order to be smoked. Some examples of weed can be mentioned as Caribbean, Mysore, California Sun and etc.
What is hash?
Hash, also known as Hashish, Charas, Stuff, Manali and Cream is known as the concentrated resin produced from the flowers of the female cannabis plant. Producing hash requires the separation of the resin from the flowering tops by drying and cooling the plant which is then filtered and small grain resins sorted through sieving which can be repeated a number of times. It is then crushed in to a powder either by hand or by a press. This resin is then treated with chemicals and other liquids, dried and then cut in to cakes and sold as hashish or hash. It is either black or golden brown in color, depending upon its purity. Some example for hash can be stated as Afghani, Kashmiri, Turkish, Manali and etc.
What is the difference between hash and weed?
Both hash and weed are derived from the same plant, cannabis sativa. The cannabis plant, just like the lotus plant, is known for its many uses of almost all its parts. Cannabis is used as a recreational drug, a substance used at religious rites and also as a medicine at times. The first use of wed is said to have been recorded around the 3rd millennium BC and it is said that around 4.0 percent of the adult world population use cannabis annually whereas approximately 0.6 percent of people are known to use cannabis daily. However, at the turn of the 20th century, cannabis has been subjected to legal restrictions and possession, use and sale of cannabis preparations containing psychoactive cannabinoids were named as illegal in most countries of the world.
The cannabis plant is said to have proved medical properties of increasing nausea and vomiting, stimulation of hunger in chemotherapy and AIDS patients alike, lowered intraocular eye pressure which makes it rather effective for treating glaucoma, as well as general analgesic effects as a pain reliever. It is also known to have therapeutic effects for many conditions ranging from multiple sclerosis to depression. Synthesized cannabinoids such as Marinol, Cesamet and an oromucosal spray for Multiple Sclerosis patients are sold as prescription drugs all over the world.
Weed and hash are known to cause psychoactive and physiological effects on the consumer, often resulting in a change in mood and perception as well as an increase in heart rate, lowered blood pressure, impairment of short-term and working memory, changes in psychomotor coordination and concentration. They are both known as soft drugs and no overdose death have been reported to have been caused by either weed or hash. However, hash is considered as much stronger than weed and thus, more addictive as well. Hash is alleged to improve the musical ability, lateral thinking, creative thinking, writing, meditation abilities of an individual as well as increase the appetite of an individual. However, due to the fact that hash is much stronger than weed, it is said to be more potentially damaging than weed considered to being much softer than the mellow grass. Another difference between the two is the fact that while weed is made up of the dried leaf and the fruit of the tree, hash is made from the compressed resin that is obtained from the tree.
