Difference between queen and full size
Queen vs full
For someone who travels constantly or for someone who has furnished a house recently, the term queen and full may not be so strange to the ear. The terms queen and full refer to the types of beds that are available in stores and also in hotels and other lodging facilities worldwide. These terms specifically refer to the sizes of the beds available under these two categories and so, there are many advantages and disadvantages pertaining to both of these bed types regarding the price, the space, etc.
What is queen size bed?
A queen size bed refers to a rather large sized bed of which is generally sixty inches wide and eighty inches long which gives it the dimensions of 4800 square inches altogether. The frame which supports the bed is required to have a centre leg support besides the normal rectangular structure because of its larger size.
What is full size bed?
A full size bed is normally meant for one person to be slept on and is typically fifty four inches wide and seventy five inches long which gives it the dimension of 4050 square inches. The frame of such a bed is a rectangular frame and are generally ideal for rooms with lesser amounts of space to spare.
What is the difference between full and queen?
The main difference between a full bed and a queen bed is their size. A queen bed is generally much longer and much wider than a full bed and therefore, it occupies more space. Therefore, a queen bed is more ideal for a larger room which has plenty of space whereas full beds can be squeezed in to small rooms where not much room is available. Also, a queen bed would not leave much space in a room for a person to move about in or to place other pieces of furniture in. However, a full bed would allow a person plenty of space to move about in as well as the opportunity to place as many pieces of furniture as he or she prefers, thereby obtaining the maximum use of the space available.
A queen bed would be ideal for a couple whereas a full bed would provide quite insufficient space for two people to sleep in as a full bed would allow only twenty seven inches per person upon the bed whereas a queen bed will allow forty inches per person to move about on the bed. Full beds are ideal for those of whose height is less than five feet five inches whereas a taller person would require a queen bed. Furthermore, a queen bed would cost more than a full bed. In addition to the initial cost of the bed, a queen bed would cost even more for the bedding, mattress, etc as it would require larger mattress and bedding whereas the whole cost of a full bed would be much lesser.
Queen beds are seen in the guest room or in smaller master bedrooms whereas full beds are seen in the children’s or the teenagers’ rooms.
