Difference between Acuvue advance and Oasys
Acuvue advance vs Oasys:
It is unarguable that eyes are a most important part in a human being’s body. They play an integral role in making a person see which helps him immensely in conducting his or her day to day activities. Eyes are indeed a precious organ which cannot be compromised. Therefore, any abnormality in the eyes would have to be treated cautiously as it is essential to protect them at any cost. Contact lenses exist for that purpose. It is true that contact lenses serve a more cosmetic purpose but there are types that provide medical assistance as well.
What is Acuvue advance?
Maintaining the moistness of the eyes is an integral factor with regards to eye health. Dryness of the eye can be quite irritating and it is for this purpose that Acuvue advance is thus used. Acuvue advance has been in the market for a considerably long time and it has been tried and tested by many users world wide. Also, it has a water percentage of 47% percent which is able o keep the eyes moist at the same time, protecting them from dust dirt and other material that can possibly cause infections to the eyes. Acuvue advance also offers UV protection which protects the eyes from harsh sunlight.
What is Oasys?
Acuvue oasys was introduced to the market after the success of Acuvue advance but with subtle differences. Acuvue Oasys offers 38% percent of moisture and yet it offers more breathing space for the eyes which is provided by a larger oxygen supply to the eyes. Also, an Oasys user is able to use the lenses for more than six consecutive days without any discomfort as Oasys is considered as a more comfortable lense to wear.
What is the difference between Oasys and Acuvue Advance?
While both the lenses come under the Acuvue brand name, Acuvue advance is the older version of the contact lens while Oasys is the version that was introduced after the success of the Acuvue advance in the market. Since Acuvue advance has been tried and tested for a considerably longer period of time than the Oasys, people still tend to rely mostly on that since Oasys is still relatively new to the market.
While both lenses serve the same purpose of protecting the eyes from dust, dirt, pollution and ultra violet rays, Acuvue advance contains 47% moisture while Oasys contains only 37%. And yet, Oasys is considered as the lens which provides more breathing space and provides more oxygen which in turn enables longer wear whereas Acuvue advance can only be worn for a shorter period of time.
In terms of price, the two lenses differ as well. While Acuvue advance is considered as more affordable, Oasys is a tad bit more expensive. It is perhaps the price difference of the prices and the fact that Acuvue advance has been in the market for longer than Oasis that has contributed towards the popularity of Acuvue advance today.
